Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Corporate

Location: Milan

Department: Finance & Administration

Reports to: CEO / Board of Directors

Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

Role Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the corporate finance function within a luxury company specializing in knitwear. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will oversee all aspects of financial planning, reporting, treasury, risk management, and compliance, ensuring the company’s financial health and supporting its national and international growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the financial strategy aligned with the company’s goals, balancing growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory and consolidated financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards (OIC, IFRS)
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and financial performance analysis.
  • Supervise treasury operations, cash flow planning, and banking relationships
  • Ensure compliance with tax and fiscal regulations, supporting international expansion initiatives
  • Develop and implement financial and tax strategies aiming at preserving company assets and reporting accurate financial results
  • Manage effectively the cash flow to ensure appropriate level of cash is constantly available for the company’s operational needs
  • Monitor closely the working capital aiming at achieving the optimal DSO/DPO/DIO
  • Review and improve all formal finance processes and procedures
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with applicable regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting
  • Support strategic transactions such as M&A, opening of new subsidiaries, joint ventures, and capital raising
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the company and the staff
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to translate business plans into actionable and financially sustainable strategies
  • Implement and enhance ERP systems and performance management tools
  • Support the CEO in preparing reports, presentations, and communications for the Board of Directors and shareholders.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, or related fields; professional qualifications (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CFA, ACCA) are a plus.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in senior finance roles, preferably within the fashion/luxury or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, taxation, management control, and corporate finance.
  • Experience managing international structures and consolidated reporting
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and business intelligence tools.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with a strong focus on execution and results.
  • Proven leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in Italian and English; additional languages are a plus.
