Alias-Executive for an international big pharmaceutical company (generic drugs) is looking for a : Chief Accountant (salary cap 65K).
In this exciting and highly visible role you will make an impact by :
- Responsible for the timely preparation of the local statutory financial statements.
- Manage a team of 3-4 accountants and senior accountants.
- Control and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and balance sheet reviews with management and internal / external auditors.
- Coordinates SOX testing, Internal and external audits for assigned legal entities.
- Coordination of centralized Transfer price process from Finance and Accounting point of view in cooperation with Corporate Accounting group.
- Coordinate & execute on the effective preparations of VAT returns and maintain / improve VAT compliance processes for the assigned entities.
- Lead and develop the team reporting into this role, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance and disciplinary actions.
- Management practices to drive continuous improvement & problem solving within the Accounting Function.
- Be hands on and support the team when overflow or escalations.
- Be part of the EMEA Finance Leadership Team contributing to the continuous improvement of the Finance in EMEA and to the development of the team.
- Adhoc duties as required.
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role, we expect the candidate to bring the following skills and experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business administration.
- Minimum of 5 / 6 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting within an international organization or experience with a Big4 in accounting or audit.
- Excellent working knowledge and experience with handling local statutory / tax regulations and in-depth experience on compliance and accounting requirements across multi EMEA jurisdictions.
- Genuine interest in developing people and experience with managing small teams.
- A ‘hands on’ work style, comfortable with the detail, and able to move seamlessly between tactical and strategic issues as required.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, handle a demanding and fluctuating workload and at the same time provide accurate and reliable data.
- Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail with a steadiness under pressure.
- Solid communication and presentation skills.
- Confident, enthusiastic and a team player.
- Based in Milan.
