Job Description:

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.

This is a seasonal, full-time contract role (40-hour working week).

The impact you’ll make

You will share your menu knowledge with guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience through warm greetings, flawless table settings, and friendly service. Your attention to detail and friendly demeanor will contribute to guest satisfaction and repeat visits.

What you’ll be doing

• Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
• Serve food and beverages, making recommendations if needed
• Assist guests with menu questions and special requests
• Record transactions accurately in the MICROS system
• Check with guests to ensure satisfaction
• Clean tables, complete closing duties, and restock supplies
• Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, and special dietary needs
• Follow cycle time guidelines for all meals
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas
• Inspect china, glass, and silverware before use
• Follow SOPs and brand guidelines at all times

What we’re looking for

• Legal right to work in Italy with a valid work permit for full-time (40 hours/week)
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
• Positive outlook and outgoing personality
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in fine dining restaurants is an advantage
• Knowledge of Micros is preferred

This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in a clean uniform. Safety training and certification are required prior to employment.
