The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.

This is a seasonal, full-time role (40-hour working week). It offers an opportunity to work in a place of exceptional art and elegance, where history and culture meet Venetian style. The Gritti is renowned for impassioned service, culinary excellence, and being a venue for international events like the Biennale, Carnival, and Venice Film Festival.

The impact you’ll make

You will share your menu knowledge and ensure guests receive memorable dining experiences through warm greetings, flawless table settings, and friendly service. Your goal is to provide each guest with a memorable dining experience, leaving a lasting impression.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcome guests and attend to tables promptly
  • Serve food and beverages, making recommendations as needed
  • Assist guests with menu questions and special requests
  • Record transactions accurately in the MICROS system
  • Check on guest satisfaction during their meal
  • Clean tables, complete closing duties, and restock supplies
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding orders, allergies, dietary needs, and product availability
  • Follow cycle time guidelines and maintain cleanliness of work areas
  • Inspect china, glass, and silverware for cleanliness and presentation
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and brand guidelines

What we’re looking for

  • Legal right to work in Italy with a valid work permit for full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality
  • Excellent conversational skills and team orientation
  • Experience in fine dining restaurants is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Micros is preferred

This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in a uniform. Safety training and certification will be required before employment.
