Job Description:

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals passionate about F&B. This is a seasonal, full-time contract (40 hours/week). It offers an opportunity to work in an elegant setting in Venice, known for art, culture, and events like the Biennale, Carnival, and Venice Film Festival.

The impact you will make

You will provide guests with memorable dining experiences through your knowledge, friendly service, and attention to detail, ensuring guest satisfaction and repeat visits.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and attend to tables promptly
  • Serve food and beverages, make recommendations
  • Assist guests with menu questions and special requests
  • Record transactions accurately in MICROS system
  • Check guest satisfaction and ensure quality service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Follow operational procedures and brand standards

Requirements

  • Legal right to work in Italy with valid work permit
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
  • Positive attitude, outgoing personality
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Experience in fine dining preferred; knowledge of MICROS is a plus

This role involves physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and maintaining a professional appearance. Safety training and certification are required prior to employment.
