The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.

This is a seasonal, full-time contract role (40-hour working week). This is a great opportunity to work in a place of exceptional art and elegance, where history and culture are met with renewed Venetian style. The Gritti is known for impassioned service, a delectable culinary experience, and an intimate wellness haven. It is a reference point for the world's elite at international city events such as the Biennale, Carnival, and the Venice Film Festival.

What you’ll be doing
  • Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
  • Serve food and beverages, making recommendations if needed
  • Share menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests
  • Record transactions correctly and timely in the MICROS system
  • Check-in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course and beverage
  • Clean tables, complete closing duties, and restock supplies
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, orders, and dietary needs
  • Follow cycle time guidelines for all meals
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
  • Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silverware prior to use
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and brand identity guidelines at all times
What we’re looking for
  • Legal right to work in Italy with a valid work permit for full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
  • Positive outlook and outgoing personality
  • Great conversational skills and teamwork-oriented
  • Experience in fine dining restaurants is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Micros is preferred

This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in a clean uniform. Safety training and certification will be required prior to employment.
