The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.

This is a seasonal, full-time contract role (40-hour working week). It offers an opportunity to work in a place of exceptional art and elegance, where history and culture meet Venetian style. The Gritti is known for impassioned service, a delectable culinary experience, and an intimate wellness haven, serving the world's elite at events like the Biennale, Carnival, and Venice Film Festival.

The impact you’ll make

You will share your menu expertise with guests, providing warm greetings, flawless table settings, and memorable dining experiences. Your friendly demeanor will ensure guests feel welcomed and valued.

What you’ll be doing

• Welcoming guests and attending to tables promptly
• Serving food and beverages, making recommendations as needed
• Sharing menu knowledge and assisting with questions and special requests
• Recording transactions accurately in the MICROS system
• Checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction
• Cleaning tables, completing closing duties, and restocking supplies
• Communicating with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, orders, and dietary needs
• Following cycle time guidelines and maintaining cleanliness
• Inspecting china, glass, and silverware before use
• Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and brand guidelines

What we are looking for

• Legal right to work in Italy, with a valid work permit for a full-time role (40 hours/week)
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
• Positive outlook and outgoing personality
• Excellent conversational skills and teamwork orientation
• Experience in fine dining restaurants is advantageous
• Knowledge of Micros is preferable

This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in a clean uniform. Safety training and certification will be required before employment.
