The Career Development Graduate Advisor in The Career Center is for graduate students interested in supporting Villanova students with their career and professional development needs. This role is geared towards graduate students pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Human Resources, or Higher Education, though we encourage all applicants with relevant experience and interests to apply. This graduate student position is a paid role consisting of approximately 10 hours per week for the academic year. Successful graduate assistants are those who have a strong interest in developing advising skills, an interest in higher education and recruiting, and a passion for helping others. The Graduate Assistant will be involved with all aspects of the office, with a strong emphasis on taking undergraduate student appointments. The Graduate Assistant will enhance their competencies in advising and presentation skills, awareness of the career development process, and knowledge of higher education administration, career planning and the recruiting field. Personal counseling or long-term therapy is not a component of this experience.
Aid in execution of career fairs, employer events, and additional Career Center programming and events. Assist with on-campus recruiting, placement activities, and marketing campaigns as needed. *This position description outlines the general nature and level of work assigned to individuals who function in this job.
