Join Our Innovative Team as a Material Specialist

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Material Specialist to join our dynamic team at CarpeCarbon, the first Italian company focusing on Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems for permanent CO2 removal. This hands-on role involves working closely with engineers and scientists to define and execute our carbon capture materials development strategy, establish relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, and contribute to cutting-edge R&D efforts.

Founded in 2022 in Turin, CarpeCarbon brings together scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs to develop cost-effective, resilient, and scalable technology to capture billions of tons of CO2 from ambient air, leading the transition to net-zero emissions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Define and implement the material development strategy for Direct Air Capture applications.
  2. Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders in the innovative materials industry.
  3. Select, optimize, and integrate carbon capture materials with scalable DAC technology.
  4. Support techno-economic assessments of materials for commercial applications.
  5. Collaborate with engineers and scientists to support prototypes development and testing.
  6. Conduct experimental research and data analysis for material and process development.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in adsorbent materials research, product development, and supplier engagement.
  • Knowledge of adsorbents and innovative materials for carbon capture is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in laboratory settings, material testing, and data interpretation.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges.
  • Experience bridging technical research and commercial development of innovative materials.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.

Location

Torino, Italy, with access to our industrial space in Caselle Torinese, including our own laboratory.
