American Express Italy is offering a six‑month internship in the Acquisition Capabilities team. This role exposes you to testing activities, data governance, and BI platform operations within a global financial services company.

You will gain hands-on experience with data analysis in Excel and contribute to governance and reporting tasks. Starting Oct 12, 2026, the internship includes 39 hours per week, with potential renewal.

Competenze

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student
  • Degree (or ongoing studies) in Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data-related fields
  • Good knowledge of Excel (basic data analysis, formulas, pivot tables)
  • Good knowledge of PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare clear and well‑structured presentations
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken

Mansioni

  • Support the execution of tests on system changes and new releases related to the Digital Banking Acquisition channel.
  • Working with Technology teams to verify that new releases and platform updates work as expected before they go live.
  • Perform data analysis activities using Excel, including data extraction, validation and simple reporting.
  • Support the day‑to‑day management of the Acquisition BI platform used by multiple teams across the organization.
  • Prepare and update PowerPoint presentations to support governance activities, channel processes and operating documentation.

Business Unit Overview
  • The Acquisition Capabilities Team sits within the broader Card Acquisition organization and is responsible for enabling and optimizing American Express' digital banking card acquisition strategies.
  • The team manages and enhances digital banking card acquisition platforms, including a Business Intelligence platform that supports the organization by ensuring data quality, robust data controls, and secure information flows across teams.
  • Working closely with Marketing, Technology, Analytics, and external partners, the team plays a critical role in driving sustainable growth through data-driven and innovative digital solutions.
About Role
  • Be exposed to testing activities and release processes, supporting system changes for the Digital Banking Acquisition channel
  • Gain hands‑on experience in Business Intelligence platforms and data governance processes within a global financial services company
  • Develop practical skills in data analysis using Excel, working with real acquisition and platform data
  • Build a strong understanding of how digital acquisition channels are managed and governed
  • Contribute to structured and meaningful projects in a high-growth, international and collaborative environment
Responsibilities
The Acquisition Capabilities Intern will:
  • Support the execution of tests on system changes and new releases related to the Digital Banking Acquisition channel.
  • Working with Technology teams to verify that new releases and platform updates work as expected before they go live.
  • Perform data analysis activities using Excel, including data extraction, validation and simple reporting.
  • Support the day‑to‑day management of the Acquisition Business Intelligence platform used by multiple teams across the organization. Helping with data quality checks and basic controls to ensure data is accurate, complete and reliable.
  • Prepare and update PowerPoint presentations to support governance activities, channel processes and operating documentation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student
  • Degree (or ongoing studies) in Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data-related fields
  • Good knowledge of Excel (basic data analysis, formulas, pivot tables; ability to work with structured data)
  • Good knowledge of PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare clear and well‑structured presentations
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous internship, university project or extracurricular experience involving data analysis, business intelligence or digital products
  • Exposure to software testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) or release management processes through academic or project work
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new systems, technologies and business processes
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of assigned activities
  • Interest in digital customer acquisition, analytics and financial services
