Animal Law Italia – Campagna “Dalla parte dei crostacei”

Animal Law Italia ETS (ALI) is a non-profit organization founded in 2016 by a group of lawyers committed to animal protection, supported by experts in welfare and bioethics. The association aims to introduce an innovative approach to animal protection in Italy and to stimulate ethical debate on their treatment in society. Our team is still primarily composed of volunteers and independent researchers.

"Dalla parte dei crostacei"

We want to raise public awareness that crabs, lobsters, crayfish, and other decapod crustaceans are sentient beings, so that society and the law consider their interests and enhance their protections.

To boost our activities for 2025-2026, we are seeking a freelance professional to support our team and help us achieve the strategic goals of the campaign.

1. Community management and volunteers: recruit, train, and motivate volunteers in various cities, coordinate the collection of reports and evidence of mistreatment;
2. Campaigning and digital advocacy: collaborate in creating social media content, newsletters, and advertising to inform the public, activate influencers/partners, and generate pressure actions towards major supermarket chains;
3. Stakeholder engagement: maintain relationships with local associations and municipal administrations;
4. Legal-strategic support: collaborate with ALI’s legal office to develop local and regional legislative proposals.

Requirements:

• Native Italian speaker with good command of English (written and spoken).
• At least one year of experience in advocacy for NGOs, digital campaigning, volunteer management, press office, public affairs, or strategic litigation.
• Availability to work flexible hours.
• Excellent writing, synthesis, and public speaking skills.
• Result-oriented, autonomous organizational skills, attention to detail.
• Familiarity with project management tools, email marketing, and social media analytics.

Preferred:

• Previous experience with animal or environmental organizations.
• Basic knowledge of animal law or food regulation.

Contract details:

• Freelance collaboration, 6 months + possible renewal.
• Compensation based on experience and commitment.
• 100% remote work, reporting to the campaign manager.
• Continuous training, dynamic environment, and impact on a pioneering issue in Italy.
