Specialista Senior / Project Manager

AVL Italia S.R.L. offers a job in Italy (IT) as a Calibration Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Calibration of engine control units for base calibration functions (air path, torque model, controller calibration, knock and pre-ignition control, etc.).
• Planning, execution, and evaluation of calibration functions in powertrain test facilities (Test Bed, Chassis Rolls, powertrain testbeds, VTB, etc.) and vehicle development.
• Achieve quality targets for base calibration functions according to AVL standards.
• Internal communication for planning and organization of calibration tasks.
• Customer communication - project overviews, analysis, and results.
• Maintenance of engine, drivetrain components, vehicle, and testbed data in appropriate systems (ETS, TFMS, etc.).
• Definition and execution of test plans across required testing environments.
• Conduct robustness testing to validate production tolerances, market-specific requirements, and environmental conditions.
• Post-processing and analysis of measurement data utilizing tools such as AVL Concerto, Cameo.
• Optimization of calibration parameters using tools such as INCA, CRETA.
• Testing under various climatic conditions on environmental test trips (ambient, altitude).
• Documentation of calibration parameters and measurement results according to development processes.
• Utilize defined methodology and tools for efficiency and quality.
• Support development of calibration methodology and tools.
• Assist project management and logistics in planning and handling engine, drivetrain, vehicle, and test facilities.

Profile:

• FH/TU in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Thermodynamics, Chemical & Process Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• HTL or equivalent.
• Technical understanding of thermodynamics of combustion engines, transmission, and electric powertrains.
• Understanding of powertrain systems and their interactions.
• Knowledge of electronic engineering, IT, and control engineering.
• Proficiency with calibration tools such as INCA, Concerto, DiagRa.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative working style.
• Driving license.
