Call for applications for admission to the PhD Programme in Modern Languages, Cultures and Societies, and Linguistics 41st cycle, in partnership with Sorbonne Université, France, and Univerza na Primorskem/Littoral University, Slovenia.

The programme includes:

• Curriculum in Modern Languages, Cultures and Societies

Taught in Italian and the languages of study.

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates will be admitted after passing a selection process involving evaluation of academic qualifications and an oral examination, possibly via videoconference, as detailed in Annex “A” of the call for applications, which specifies research topics, available places, admission requirements, and candidate selection criteria.

The application must be submitted by 1:00 pm (Italian time) on August 28th, 2025, via the online procedure described in the call; failure to do so will result in exclusion from the process.

Applicants possessing any of the following qualifications can apply:

• Laurea specialistica/magistrale (second cycle/Master's degree);
• a degree obtained under the Italian university system before Ministerial Decree no. 509/1999;
• second-level university qualifications from AFAM institutions (Alta Formazione Artistica e Musicale).

Graduating students may also apply if they will obtain their degree by November 15th, 2025.
