This Buyer / Procurement role has come up due to continuous growth and expansion, and offers an exciting opportunity with progression within a dynamic business. Part of the ISC department, reporting to the senior finished product buyer. Strong relation with R&I and GSS (Gewiss as a Service) teams and BU leaders, and a member of the Digital transformation project related to Servitisation.
Key responsibilities for the position of Buyer / Procurement Specialist :
- Scout and source products and services across categories including hardware, software, and services.
- Understand and apply standard procurement principles.
- Work to deadlines and contracted KPIs, focusing on quick turnaround and savings.
- Respond to internal requests for quotations.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timescales to achieve targets and increase savings for our customers.
- Evaluate supplier price, quality, and delivery performance.
- Onboard new suppliers and maintain existing supplier records.
- Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships through effective communication.
- Prepare and implement appropriate contractual agreements with suppliers, engaging legal counsel and senior management when required.
- Understand customer needs and respond promptly to their requests.
- Stay current on market changes affecting supply and demand, and communicate these effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Attend meetings, update colleagues on issues, share best practices, and define processes.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, and support continuous improvement.
- Produce and maintain bespoke reports.
- Key experience and skills required:
- Knowledge of the electronic components market.
- Support R&I in managing the product/component lifecycle, including supply alternatives, phase-in/phase-out management, and BOM analysis.
Requisiti
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the IT industry in roles such as sourcing, buying, or supply chain management, preferably involving European countries.
- Experience in managing supplier interactions and reviewing contracts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to lead work and interact with international suppliers and customers.
- Analytical skills in evaluating supplier terms, comparing prices, and benchmarking data.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate effectively with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP and CRM is desirable.
