Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genova or Pistoia, Italy.

Accountabilities

• Identify potential suppliers based on technical specifications;
• Formulate requests for tenders;
• Formulate requests for quotation;
• Assess and negotiate tenders received;
• Issue orders/framework contracts through the SAP corporate management system;
• Forward, approve, ship, and archive purchase orders;

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Ability to read/interpret technical specifications and/or drawings;
• Previous experience, even minimal, as a Buyer;
• Excellent use of office software and main computer tools;
• Knowledge of SAP Environment System MM;
• Proven negotiation skills, complemented by good analytical and management abilities.

Education / Qualifications

• Technical-commercial degree in engineering, management, economic, or legal disciplines;

Languages

• Advanced knowledge of English (at least B2);
