The Ligabue Group is a historic player in the Food Service sector, specializing in services for the maritime and energy industry markets. It develops Procurement, Catering, and Facility Management services, including integrated solutions such as Housekeeping and Maintenance. The company primarily operates in the maritime sector, serving Cruise Ships, Ferries, Cargo Ships, and in the Oil & Gas, Mining, and Construction sectors, both offshore and onshore in remote areas.

Position: Buyer

The Buyer is a key team member responsible for purchasing merchandise for Ligabue Group, managing initiatives at Marghera's and Rotterdam's warehouses. This role involves coordinating procurement activities across various divisions including Ferries, Cruise, Ship Supply, Cargo, and offshore operations.

Based at Ligabue HQ, the Buyer oversees procurement for multiple categories, primarily dry food, along with equipment, goods, and services, managing vendor relationships and procurement processes.

Tasks and Duties

• Negotiate and monitor effective procurement of assigned product categories, analyze the supply market for new opportunities, and gather purchase needs.
• Maintain commercial relations with suppliers.
• Manage purchase orders and related activities.
• Track and report key metrics to reduce expenses and enhance efficiency.
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments, and clients, fostering strong vendor relationships.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring quality of service.
• Evaluate contracts for legal compliance and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with Legal and Divisions to prepare and review supply contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance based on QCD metrics, renegotiate prices, and implement cost-saving strategies.
• Ensure supplier compliance with contractual terms and resolve disputes.
• Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements.
• Produce reports on purchase commitments.
• Develop and maintain effective supply strategies worldwide.
• Manage customer satisfaction processes from order to supply chain quality assurance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sourcing and vendor management within food wholesale, maritime, food retail, or raw materials industries.
• Deep understanding of market research and analysis methods.
• Strong knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German or other languages is a plus.
