An established industry player is seeking a skilled Buyer to join their Procurement team in Cesena. This role offers the opportunity to manage procurement processes, negotiate contracts, and contribute to cost reduction activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with at least three years of experience in procurement within engineering companies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring favorable procurement opportunities and supporting various business functions. BUYER

The candidate will be part of the Procurement team and will be responsible for analyzing domestic and international procurement markets.

Activities:

  • Manage, based on the purchasing strategies and policies defined by the Procurement Manager, the procurement process of assigned goods and/or services
  • Manage contracts, negotiate prices and purchasing terms and conditions of assigned suppliers
  • Monitor price trends of materials and components under his/her responsibility
  • Contribute to the development of the supplier base and its improvement for the purpose of seeking more favorable procurement opportunities
  • Research and participate in cost reduction activities such as resourcing, design to cost, etc.
  • Manage the purchase order management process based on requests received, in compliance with company guidelines
  • Support other business functions in resolving issues (quality, projects, deliveries)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience in the role of at least 3 years preferably in engineering companies
  • Knowledge of technical drawing, manufacturing and cost estimating techniques
  • Experience in purchasing metal parts to drawing (machined components, carpentry, castings,
  • Skilled with the use of ERP (SAP preferred) and dedicated Tools, MS Office
  • Knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Negotiation skills, problem solving, aptitude for leadership and teamwork
