Job Description - Business Development Specialist (240001DC)

Position Summary Business Development support to the Milan office and interaction with the Regional Corporate practice of the firm.

The key aspects of the job are to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective support for pitches, submissions and other key elements such as marketing communication and events for the Milan office. The role will also have a regional dimension and the candidate is expected to take responsibility for supporting and coordinating with the regional practice in cross border projects.

Duties and Accountabilities

BD/Marketing

  • Understand Firm strategy and key client focus to insert into BD activity of the office;
  • Understand pan European White & Case opportunities and extend to Milan office clients;
  • Maintain models and assist pitches and proposals, in particular, help with the research of credentials;
  • Collaborate in the organization and execution of practice and client seminars and webinars;
  • Directories & Rankings: prepare submissions, follow up deadlines and outcome;
  • Organize BD processes of different practices;
  • Collaborate in the design and execution of sector-related brochures and fact sheets;
  • Actualize office presentations and other brochures;
  • Update of lawyers’ biographies;
  • Update and classification of matters involving lawyers of the Milan office;
  • Ensure timely entry of BD data into InterAction and collect BD information from partners and their PA’s;
  • Keep client list updated;
  • Aid in updating the W&C website and related content;
  • Maintain relationship with the press (we aim to discuss strategy on this point but it is not going to be the main focus of our BD strategy).

Events

  • Active involvement in the organization of office client and internal events, including logistics and attendance;
  • Deal with vendors;
  • Network and interact with stakeholders/clients in certain events such as Christmas gadget organization or others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field;
  • Previous experience in the Business Development team of a law firm;
  • Commercial and business awareness;
  • Ability to see the big picture;
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills;
  • Strong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple tasks;
  • Driven by professional growth;
  • Client service focus;
  • Team player;
  • Proactive, resourceful, takes initiative;
  • Fluency in English.

Location & Reporting

This is a role based in Milan.

  • This role reports to the Business Development Manager in Italy.
