Reporting Line

This position reports to Service Sales Manager.

Your role and responsibilities

The Service Sales Business Development Manager develops tactical and strategic customer plans to meet financial orders, sales, and margin goals. Responsibilities include growing the ABB EL Services portfolio, which encompasses service engineering solutions, hardware solutions, aftermarket parts, and ABB Ability Digital Solutions. The role involves identifying, developing, and closing orders, supporting both short-term and long-term business goals. Market access will be leveraged through direct end customer engagement, the ABB EL Rep Network, ABB's C&I, OEM, and Utility Sales Channels, Distribution Customers, and Direct End-Users.

You will play a crucial role in implementing the service sales strategy, focusing on penetrating the installed base and promoting upgrade, retrofit, and value-added solutions.

The role is primarily remote (#Li-Remote), with candidates ideally located in South Carolina and able to travel within the territory. This position contributes to the Electrification Services division in the southern region.

Main responsibilities include:

  1. Providing sales leadership in the assigned geography through strategy formulation and execution, leveraging local operational service solutions, ABB Reps, and OEM/Distribution channels.
  2. Maintaining and growing service volume at traditional ABB EL Services accounts, with accurate opportunity tracking in Salesforce.com (SFDC).
  3. Establishing strong relationships with ABB Reps and implementing account planning and pacing to promote service solutions.
  4. Collaborating with ABB's C&I, OEM, and Utility sales teams to leverage existing relationships and promote the ABB EL Services portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in industrial or utility sales.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or marketing.
  • Knowledge of electrical power studies, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relaying, and the industrial, commercial, and utility markets.
  • Proven success in developing new customer volume/trade areas.
  • Experience in industries such as Marine, Utilities, Manufacturing, etc., is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of industrial and utility applications for services, repairs, and products is preferred.
  • Must have valid work authorization to work in the US.
