Business Development Manager - Italy - EV Charging - Remote with Travel - €40K to €55K + Commission (Uncapped up to 50%)

Location: Italy - (Milan/Turin) - Regular visits to either London or Barcelona.

My client is seeking an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This is a remote position based in Italy, with occasional travel to their Southern Europe hub in Barcelona.

Their intelligent energy platform helps customers access renewable energy, understand consumer behaviour, and power smart charging for electric vehicles (EVs). They are scaling rapidly and are looking for individuals passionate about clean technology and the transition to a more sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Revenue Generation

  • Identify and close new opportunities with key players in the EV ecosystem, including installers, distributors, and automotive partners.
  • Manage a B2B sales pipeline and convert leads into commercial partnerships.
  • Own the full sales cycle from outreach and proposal through to negotiation and contract closure.
  • Achieve sales targets across hardware (EV chargers) and recurring revenue from software and services.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across products and service offerings.

Market Development and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical installers, wholesalers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to help refine positioning and strategy.
  • Gather and share customer feedback to support continuous product and service improvement.

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a business development, sales, or commercial role, ideally within EV, energy, or technology sectors.
  • Strong track record of managing a sales pipeline and achieving revenue targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Native-level fluency in Italian and professional working proficiency in English.
  • Comfortable working independently within a remote, distributed team.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and collaboration tools (experience with Slack, Jira, Odoo is advantageous).

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge or passion for the EV sector, renewable energy, or clean technology markets.
  • Experience building partner networks with installers or distributors.
  • Competitive base salary plus up to 50% uncapped commission.
  • Remote-first position, with travel to offices in Barcelona and London as required.
