Your Role

As Megaport expands in Southern Europe, especially in Italy, we seek motivated individuals to join us in growing our presence. You will become an expert in SDN, cloud interconnection, and SD-WAN, influencing how Italian enterprises connect to digital infrastructure.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, Southern Europe, your responsibilities include developing business relationships in Italy by promoting and selling Megaport’s value proposition. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role suited for someone eager to influence outcomes, drive growth, and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative sales environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  1. Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities through proactive prospecting in your territory.
  2. Manage targeted enterprise engagement programs leveraging sales and marketing resources.
  3. Research customer business drivers, priorities, and stakeholders to shape account strategies.
  4. Use market insights to help craft go-to-market plans with sales and marketing teams.
  5. Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Architects, and Marketing to execute campaigns that generate engagement and demand.
  6. Support sales and pre-sales efforts, ensuring Megaport’s value proposition is clearly communicated.
  7. Contribute to solution design during pre-sales, aligning with customer needs.
  8. Identify, onboard, and grow high-potential channel partners in Italy.
  9. Build trust-based relationships with partners, understanding their business models.
  10. Engage in technical discussions and support partners in delivering complex solutions.
  11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Megaport’s solutions and confidently discuss technical details with clients and partners.
What We Are Looking For
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented with strong prospecting and closing skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Italian IT ecosystem, including key players and trends.
  • Experience in direct and channel sales, especially in network infrastructure or ‘as-a-service’ models.
  • Ability to manage complex sales involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Established network of partners in Italy and ability to engage at an executive level.
  • Technical proficiency in networking, cloud connectivity, and VPNs.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable, quick learner, comfortable in fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% as needed.
  • Native Italian speaker with professional English proficiency.
