Senior Business Development Manager - Greenfield Solar PV
Our client is looking to expand their team of Senior Business Development Managers to help transition the world towards a more sustainable future. Italy is considered one of the most promising markets for renewable projects, and they are eager to grow their photovoltaic project pipeline within the sector.
The Role
- Secure land, identify, evaluate, and propose acquisition and partnership opportunities.
- Build and maintain an existing portfolio of business contacts.
- Manage a team of land prospectors and project developers in your region.
- Oversee development within an allocated territory, managing a portfolio of large-scale, ground-mounted solar farms from site identification to obtaining all necessary permits.
- Monitor and respond to expressions of interest (EOI) from communities or private individuals in the region.
- Identify and analyze opportunities for photovoltaic project acquisition and conduct risk assessments.
- Manage technical and legal consultants, working closely with internal support functions such as planning, PPA, BE, purchasing, networks, and production.
- Review and finalize project contracts including NDAs, co-development agreements, leases, SPAs, EPC, and O&M contracts.
- Provide support for business development activities as needed.
- This is a hybrid role, allowing work from anywhere in Italy or from offices in Taranto or Milan.
Experience & Education
- Experience in delivering large-scale solar projects in Italy.
- Extensive knowledge of the Italian market.
- Strong understanding of greenfield development processes.
- Master’s degree, MBA, or relevant field; financial qualifications are a plus.

Location & Salary
- Location: Italy - Milan or remote (hybrid).
- Salary: Negotiable depending on experience; range €60,000 - €90,000 per year.
