The successful candidate will manage a database of customers in France and Luxembourg and focus on prospecting and generating qualified leads. This will involve outbound calls and emails to decision-makers in language services and technology, with an emphasis on financial sciences translation and tech offerings. Leads will be obtained through marketing initiatives, independent research, and opportunities from conferences.

The Business Development Manager will follow up on campaigns, cold call targets, existing client base, and work with Account Managers to identify contacts and determine buyers and decision-making influencers. The successful candidate must be technically minded and confident in providing RWS’s technology message generating interest in RWS's solutions.

The Regulated Industries division is focused on developing translation and content management solutions tailored to address the complex regulatory environment in force with premium sectors such as Life Sciences and Healthcare (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, CROs, healthcare companies), Finance (banks, asset management companies, insurance providers, fintech) and Legal (law firms, audit companies).

Key Responsibilities

Job Overview

  • Identify and target asset managers, investment banks, insurance firms, and key industry partners working in the financial services sector needing regulatory-compliant localization services.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to secure high-value, enterprise contracts for language services and technology within global financial services organizations.
  • Meet or exceed revenue targets by acquiring new clients and expanding services within existing accounts.

Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Research and engage with marketing, legal, corporate operations, regulatory and compliance functions to understand their multilingual needs.
  • Generate leads through networking at industry events and conferences.
  • Leverage CRM data and industry reports to identify new business opportunities.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by educating clients on the importance of translation accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure seamless client experience by aligning language services with product launches, and global regulatory requirements.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and localization requirements across different regions, content types and regulatory frameworks – from SFDR to PRIIPs and CSRD.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and position differentiated solutions such as AI-powered financial translation, and structured content management.
  • Provide market intelligence to shape pricing strategies, service enhancements, and go-to-market approaches.

Proposal & Contract Negotiation

  • Develop and present tailored proposals, RFP responses.
  • Negotiate enterprise-level contracts for multilingual content workflows.
  • Ensure agreements align with industry regulations and quality standards (ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 27001).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers and quality assurance teams to deliver high-quality, compliant translations.
  • Collaborate with the Solutions Team to deliver appropriate information and presentations to potential clients.
  • Contribute ideas and information to the Global team.

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Maintain sales forecasts, pipeline data, and activity in Salesforce.
  • Track and analyze conversion rates, revenue growth, and service adoption trends to refine sales strategies.
  • Deliver market insights and quarterly business reviews to demonstrate ROI and quality improvements in localization efforts.

Networking & Industry Engagement

  • Represent the company at financial services industry conferences to build brand awareness and establish credibility.
  • Stay informed on new developments in AI translation, regulatory technology (RegTech), and multilingual compliance solutions.
  • Partner with industry participants to expand business opportunities.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an outbound revenue generating role, specifically within financial services.
  • Experience in the localization industry will be valuable.
  • Proficient in English and French will be valuable.
  • The role encompasses coverage of the Luxembourg market which is a key focus for the asset management industry. Knowledge of this market would be advantageous.
  • Specialization selling Software (SaaS) and Services B2B.
  • Ability to cold call into an organization and identify key decision makers and influencers
  • Self-motivated and able to appropriately set and pursue own goals in support of the organization's goals
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred, but not required
  • Must be a skilled communicator with a dynamic and engaging phone presence who excels in questioning and listening to determine the prospect's needs
  • Must be a fast learner who enjoys self-education
