Become a part of our talented deugro team, as we look for a Business Development Manager in Segrate (Milan), Italy.

Key responsibilities :

  • Promote and grow the Air and Sea freight services (both imports and exports)
  • Client analysis on gross margin, volume, and profitability, as well as client management with respect to handling complaints
  • Collections : Payments, TDS, and updating the CRM system
  • Cold calling, quoting, closing new business, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of customers / accounts
  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers; meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select deals aligned with strategies, and lead pitch logistics
  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategies, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
  • Support deal structuring and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations, developing new ideas and strategies
  • Proactively source and qualify new business opportunities / leads via inbound and outbound marketing efforts
  • Travel within Italy to meet clients

Skills, knowledge, and expertise :

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Shipping Line, Freight Forwarding products such as Sea / Air Import & Exports, Project Cargo, ODC, Ro-Ro, Break Bulk / Commodities
  • Relevant experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry and good knowledge of Incoterms and operations
  • Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
  • Experience with sales techniques
  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and verbal
