Overview

Become a part of our talented deugro team, as we look for a Business Development Manager in Segrate (Milan), Italy.

deugro was founded in Frankfurt am Main and is the first company of the deugro group, where it has its focus on global project freight forwarding. Every day the industry and deugro face the challenges of the logistics industry and our employees use their expertise to ensure large cargo is transported safely, effectively, and efficiently, through innovative and creative logistical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Promote and grow the Air and Sea freight services (both imports and exports)
• Client analysis on gross margin, volume, and profitability as well as client management with respect to handling complaints
• Collections: Payments and TDS and updating the CRM system
• Cold calling, quoting and close new business, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of customers / accounts
• Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
• Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs - from various sources
• Generate new leads, identify, and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
• Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
• Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals
• Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentation developing new ideas / strategies
• Proactively source and qualify new business opportunities / leads via inbound and outbound marketing efforts
• Travel weekly in Italy to meet clients

Skills, knowledge and expertise

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• In-depth knowledge of Shipping Line, Freight Forwarding products such as Sea / Air Import & Exports, Project Cargo, ODC, Ro-Ro, Break Bulk / Commodities
• Relevant experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry and good knowledge of Inco Terms and Operations
• Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
• Working experience with sales techniques
• Fluent Italian and English skills, both written and verbal
