Business Development Manager

Location : Assago (MI), Italy

Work Arrangement : Remote

Markem-Imaje is a trusted global manufacturer of product identification and traceability solutions, offering a full line of reliable and innovative inkjet, thermal transfer, laser, print and apply label systems. We deliver fully integrated solutions that enhance product quality and safety, ensure regulatory and retailer compliance, facilitate product recalls, and improve manufacturing processes.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for selling Markem-Imaje’s solutions to customers in Italy. The role encompasses all aspects of the sales cycle, from prospecting and new business development to opportunity management.

What you will do

  • Understand the business strategies of target accounts, focusing on serialization initiatives, especially the UniSecure solution.
  • Act as the primary contact within target accounts for positioning and selling Markem-Imaje’s Serialization Product Tracking solutions.
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan to guide and measure your progress and success.
  • Create and deliver presentations, white papers, and communications.
  • Conduct regular review sessions and roundtable discussions with target accounts.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor, influencing account strategies regarding serialization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product managers and directors to determine required resources and product mix for value creation.
  • Maintain communication with customers and Professional Services to ensure alignment on operational solutions, timelines, costs, and outcomes. Address operational issues with the appropriate team.
  • Report regularly to the Sales Director and senior management.
  • Understand the overall product packaging strategies within target accounts.
  • Establish sales forecasts, maintain customer and prospect records, and generate reports via our CRM system.
  • Stay updated on our products, solutions, and industry trends.

What you need to have

  • Experience in consultative selling of solutions combining products and enterprise software services.
  • A proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to build consensus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in English.
