Overview

Description The opportunity: As a key member of the GPQSS team, you will lead business development efforts across our entire portfolio by designing and deploying innovative business models—includ­ing but not limited to Financing, As-a-Service offerings, project co-investment, and strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for crafting compelling value propositions and business case scenarios for review, approval, and deployment. By expanding on our current models, you will use innovation as a catalyst to reach new and existing customers, with the goal of increasing market penetration and delivering long-term value.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and deployment of advanced business models—includ­ing Financing, As-a-Service, project co-investment, and hybrid models—that align with customer needs and market dynamics. Develop robust business cases and financial scenarios to support internal approvals and external negotiations.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their financial and operational constraints. Co-create tailored commercial structures that enhance value delivery, reduce risk, and improve affordability across our portfolio.
  • Identify, initiate, and formalize long-term partnerships with customers, financial institutions, technology providers, and parallel industries. Structure agreements that enable joint development, shared investment, and integrated delivery of system-level solutions.
  • Introduce and implement commercial mechanisms such as Frame Agreements, Capacity Reservation Agreements, and long-term service models. Ensure these frameworks support scalable growth, secure delivery capacity, and optimize commercial outcomes for both customers and Hitachi Energy.
  • Use financial innovation as a lever to enter new markets and segments. Analyze trends, assess risk-reward profiles, and position our offerings to unlock new revenue streams and increase market penetration.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, sales, and product teams to align business model innovation with operational capabilities and compliance requirements. Ensure seamless execution from concept to contract.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; 8+ years in business development, strategic marketing, or commercial innovation—preferably in energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to design and implement innovative business models and partnership frameworks.
  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and ability to build compelling business cases and value propositions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement across cultures and seniority levels; skilled in navigating complex matrix organizations and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and contract structuring; fluent in English, additional languages are a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and customer-centricity; committed to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
