General Objectives:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Developer to drive business growth and support the expansion of the company’s footprint.

The ideal candidate will have a strong network within the Industrial market and possibly a good knowledge for Aerospace/Defense, and a proven track record in technical sales, business development, and strategic partnership building.

The candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing client relationships with new clients and new departments of existing clients, and working closely with the internal technical teams to support the transformation of said leads into sales and deliver tailored solutions. The candidate will also be responsible for increasing revenue by cross-selling goods and services for existing customers.

Main Accountabilities:

  1. Support the development and execution of business development strategies to grow the company’s presence in the Industrial and Aerospace and Defense sectors.
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including government contracts, OEM partnerships, and Tier-1 supplier collaborations.
  3. Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospective customer contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales.
  4. Establish and maintain relationships with current and new customers to drive additional revenues, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
  5. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including procurement managers, engineering leads, production teams and management to ensure excellent levels of service for clients.
  6. Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  7. Use customer contact tools and systems and support the development of new ones.
  8. Work closely with internal technical teams to develop proposals, bids, and innovative solutions that align with customer needs.
  9. Lead the preparation of RFP/RFQ responses and negotiate contracts to ensure long-term business success.
  10. Plan/carry out/support marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales.
  11. Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  12. Drive business expansion efforts by identifying new markets, conducting market research, and evaluating potential business opportunities.
  13. Monitor sales performance and report on business development activities, ensuring alignment with corporate growth objectives.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  1. 3-5 years of related Business Development experience, sales, or key account management, preferably within technical engineering services or solutions.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
  3. Demonstrated experience in B2B sales, contract negotiations, and strategic partnership development as well as a good knowledge of product realization processes.
  4. Working knowledge of most updated marketing and customer relation tools.
  5. Existing professional network in Italy and Europe, especially in the Industrial BtoB market, and in the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
  6. Availability for frequent short-term travelling.
  7. English language proficiency.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams to translate client needs into viable engineering solutions.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  10. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
