Position Overview

Our COP Business Case and Bid Team is seeking an experienced professional with extensive knowledge of the Renewable / Infrastructure industry, including experience in valuation, business cases, M&A processes, and corporate finance. This role is based in Milan, Italy, and reports to the Italy Commercial Director.

As a member of our global Business Case and Bid Team, you will play a key role in managing the business case functions for offshore wind projects in Italy. The team currently comprises approximately 25 members worldwide, including one based in Milan, and you will be part of a truly international company. The position involves working at COP’s Milan office on current and future offshore wind projects in Italy, integrating with the Italian offshore wind project team of about 15 people.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, maintain, and operate business cases for offshore wind projects.
2. Support financial modeling and valuation analysis for offshore wind projects.
3. Assist in bid development and provide financial support for offshore wind offtake and leasing auctions.
4. Provide financial analysis for tender bids and key supplier selection decisions.
5. Prepare strategic decision materials and financial updates for senior management and investment committees.
6. Conduct energy market analysis, monitor regulatory frameworks, and develop high-level market strategies to enhance project value, including assessing new offshore wind markets.
7. Develop in-house knowledge and tools for business case assessments.
8. Participate in due diligence processes for new project acquisitions.
9. Support business development for early-stage offshore wind projects.

Qualifications

1. Top academic performer with an interest in large and complex infrastructure projects.
2. Experience in the energy sector; offshore wind industry experience is preferred.
3. Experience with valuation, business cases, M&A processes, and corporate finance.
4. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
