Job Description

Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Design of Mechanical and Plumbing Systems for Civil and Industrial buildings related to the assigned project. This includes working based on guidelines from the Mechanical and Plumbing Specialist or Building Design Leader, and in agreement with other disciplines. Responsibilities include optimizing technical and economic choices in accordance with the budget and schedule, developing discipline designs according to main international standards (EN, NFPA, etc.) and Tecnimont standards, and work instructions. Design tasks involve equipment sizing and selection using application software, creating functional schematics, and preparing technical specifications. Specific duties include:

• Calculating heat loss, cooling loads, heat requirements, pressure drops, and psychometric charts.
• Designing schematics and layouts for HVAC and mechanical equipment.
• Selecting and calculating performance for heating and cooling systems, pumps, fans, compressors, boilers, chillers.
• Designing plumbing systems including fire-fighting, water supply, and drainage, ensuring interface and coordination with other disciplines and architectural requirements.
• Preparing Material Requisitions (M.R.) and Work Requisitions (W.R.) during proposal and detailed design phases, aligned with technical, contractual, and economic requirements.
• Supporting in bill of quantities preparation, client design reviews, technical clarifications, and design modifications.
• Providing field engineering assistance for technical approvals, shop drawings, vendor follow-up, testing, and commissioning activities.

Personal Attributes

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, specialized in HVAC and Plumbing systems.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge of main international standards for HVAC & Plumbing.
• Experience in a similar role within the last five years.
• Experience with Mechanical & Plumbing design processes for various building types including Control Rooms, Electrical Substations, Laboratories, etc.
• Field work experience in industrial plants (petrochemical, oil & gas) is a plus.
• Experience working with MEP subcontractors.
• Proficiency in drafting tools (AutoCAD), BIM tools (REVIT, Navisworks), and HVAC & Plumbing design software (CARRIER HAP, MAGICAD).
• Knowledge of energy modeling and green building rating systems (LEED or equivalent).
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, with good problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Availability to travel domestically and abroad for short and long periods.
