IIT invites applications for a Research Fellow in brain-on-chip systems for neurodegenerative disease modeling, based in Naples. You will develop 3D neural in vitro models and integrate them into microfluidic brain-on-chip platforms under the guidance of the Bio-logic unit led by Prof.

Paolo Netti. The role requires collaboration across disciplines, experimental characterization under physiological and disease-relevant conditions, and dissemination of findings.

Competenze

  • MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Neuroscience, or related disciplines.
  • Experience or training in mammalian cell culture and 3D in vitro models.
  • Knowledge of neural tissue engineering, organoid/neurospheroid culture, or organ-on-chip technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of microfluidic systems and experimental characterization of biological models.
  • Good spoken and written English.

Mansioni

  • Develop 3D neural in vitro models, incl. neurospheroids and organoids.
  • Integrate neural models into microfluidic brain-on-chip platforms.
  • Create interconnected neural systems to study neuronal communication.
  • Characterize brain-on-chip models under physiological and disease conditions.
