Description

Mission: Reporting into the Ready-to-wear Product Development Director, you will be responsible for structuring the collection buying processes, managing the collection budget, negotiating prices with external mills, monitoring development coherence with the collection plan, establishing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, and conducting vendor evaluations for performance, quality, and reliability.

How you will contribute?

Collection Fabric Buying:

  • Manage the full fabric collection buying and delivery in collaboration with the Head of Fabric Design and Development.
  • Balance fabric collection aspects such as price, weight, and composition according to the collection plan, optimizing stock and reusing leftovers.
  • Oversee fabric management in PLM and TESI systems with the help of a Fabric buyer and administrator.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, technical files, and delivery schedules with suppliers, aiming to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Implement supplier performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations for reliability, quality, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with Collection merchandising and Production for pre-buying and industrialization of fabrics.
  • Manage the production hand-over process with the Head of Fabric Design and Development.
  • Coordinate with the Product Development Director to ensure fabric orders match department needs.
  • Work with the Head of Fabric Design and Development to understand collection themes, colors, and fabric requirements.
  • Coordinate fabric-to-sketch processes and monitor stock, orders, and delivery situations.
  • Establish and manage relationships with fabric suppliers, ensuring a diverse and reliable vendor base.
  • Coordinate with the head of sustainability to develop sustainable fabric options when possible.

Budget Management:

  • Create and manage fabric budgets for each collection, ensuring quality and cost optimization.
  • Work with the finance team to adhere to budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop detailed fabric budgets in collaboration with the Head of Fabric Design & Development, aligning with design and production needs.
  • Conduct cost analyses and justify budget allocations with documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate fabric budgets within overall collection budgets.
  • Monitor leftover stock for effective utilization in collaboration with production teams.

Quality Control:

  • Work with quality control teams to establish and maintain fabric quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks during collection development.
