A leading EPC provider for large-scale BESS projects in Europe is seeking a BESS Project Manager to lead Pre-Construction activities across Italy. The ideal candidate will manage project lifecycles and collaborate with contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project execution. Fluent in Italian, with strong skills in project management and logistics, you'll be pivotal in overseeing significant utility-scale projects.

Role : BESS Project Manager - Pre Construction

Location : Milan, Italy - Flexible on all locations across Italy

Client :

Our client is the leading EPC provider for large scale BESS projects across Europe. They currently have a project portfolio of over 5 GW and are continuing to build upon this.

Due to recent success in Italy, they are now recruiting for a BESS Project Manager to support them with their Pre-Construction activities and getting the project to RTB phase.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of large-scale solar and energy storage projects, from RTB to commissioning.
• Work closely with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee grid connection processes, including liaising with TSOs & DNOs
• Plan and coordinate logistics and resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Lead contractor selection, manage EPC contracts, and supervise on-site construction activities.
• Track and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and report to project finance teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in managing utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects, ideally 50 MW or more.

Familiarity with grid connection agreements and processes in Italy.

Strong skills in logistics and resource planning for large-scale projects.

Experience in EPC and contractor management with hands-on construction oversight.

Financial expertise in managing large CAPEX budgets.

Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in the renewable energy sector.

Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Must be fluent in Italian
