Job Description

Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Bakery Shop, managing daily production according to company policies.

Responsible for the production, quality, and presentation of bread for daily menus.

Assist the Head Baker in preparing production forecasts and recording leftovers to minimize waste and control food costs.

Support the setup of bread displays in various buffets.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Public Health rules and regulations, ensuring daily compliance.

Oversee the cleaning of the bakery shop as scheduled by the Executive Chef, using proper methods to prevent equipment damage.

Prepare the bakery for any scheduled or surprise USPH inspections by ship management or USPH inspectors.

Manage requisitions and transportation of necessary items from main stores to the bakery when assigned.

Ensure recipes and yields meet company standards.

Assist the CDP Baker with completing daily consumption reports as required by the Executive Chef.

Acquire and maintain knowledge of ship’s standard operations to assist guests and crew inquiries.

Attend meetings, training, and other work-related activities as required.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a Baker in upscale hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or banquet services; shipboard experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment requirements, and usage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
