Job Title: Bagger

Location: Retail Grocery Location

Position Overview

The bagger is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing accurate, fast, and courteous customer checkout. This individual effectively packages customer purchases and expedites the flow of groceries from the checkout lane to the customer’s vehicle.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  1. Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
  2. Assist customers in unloading purchases onto the conveyor belt at the checkout.
  3. Pack customer purchases in a manner to prevent damages, carry or push groceries in a shopping cart to the customer’s car, and load groceries into the vehicle.
  4. Check the price of merchandise in all departments, as needed.
  5. Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
  6. Put up discarded or returned merchandise.
  7. Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and other areas and return them to the designated area.
  8. Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report faulty equipment and hazards to management.
  9. Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, property defacement, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
  10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
  1. Meet legal and company policy age requirements to perform job functions.
  2. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  3. Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
  4. Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
  5. Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
