A research center on innovation and crime is seeking a Back-End Developer in Italy. The role involves supporting dashboard backend development, API management, and integrating analytical models. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, knowledge of R/Python, and experience in data analysis. Flexible working modes (in-person or remote) are available.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics (in progress or completed).
• Knowledge of R and / or Python programming languages.
• Experience in data analysis.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Knowledge of software development, particularly the implementation of RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in English.

Mansioni

• Support the creation, customisation, and maintenance of the dashboard backend.

We are looking for a Back-End Developer to join our team and support the design, creation, customisation, and maintenance of back-end and API development related to web services used for data analysis and financial and crime prevention investigations.

Transcrime is the Joint Research Centre on Innovation and Crime of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. Crime&tech srl is its spin-off company, which translates Transcrime’s research into analyses, models, and tools for the assessment, prevention, and reduction of security and crime-related risks.

Main responsibilities :

• Support the creation, customisation, and maintenance of the dashboard backend;
• Support API development and management;
• Integration with LLM API;
• Develop R and / or Python code for KPI calculation;
• Work with researchers to implement their proposed analytical models within the back-end.

Minimal requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics (in progress or completed);

Knowledge of R and / or Python programming languages;

Experience in data analysis;

Basic knowledge of the SQL language;

Knowledge of software development, particularly the implementation of RESTful APIs;

Proficiency in English.

Preferred requirements :

Basic knowledge of Linux;

Basic knowledge of Docker;

Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider : GCP (preferred), AWS, Azure;

Interest in business intelligence, compliance, anti-money laundering, or illegal markets.

Contract terms and salary will be determined based on experience, availability, and commitment.

Working mode : in-person or remote work with occasional meetings at Transcrime’s office, Via San Vittore 43, Milan, according to the preference of the candidate and internal Transcrime planning.
