The international law firm Oracle Solicitors is looking for a Lawyer specialized in Aviation Law.
What is the opportunity?
The Lawyer will be responsible for handling delegated work within their areas of expertise, meeting performance targets set by Oracle, and responding to management instructions. They will provide expert legal support and advice to airline clients and paralegals on daily inquiries. The Lawyer will manage their own caseload and client interactions.
What will you do?
- Represent Oracle Solicitors in matters involving aviation regulators.
- Handle delegated cases, report progress to the Head of Department and/or Directors.
- Manage own clients and casework across various categories.
- Ensure quality of service and legal advice meet standards.
- Follow internal policies and procedures.
- Stay informed of changes in relevant legal areas to maintain service quality.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Prepare for trials and hearings.
- Conduct legal research, gather relevant information, and analyze case facts.
- Draft and review legal documents, including correspondence, defenses, orders, witness statements, and legal briefs.
- Take witness statements and assist during trials with notes, exhibits, and transcript review.
What do you need to succeed?
- Fluent English (interview conducted in English).
- Law Degree and qualification to practice in Italy.
- 1-2 years of legal experience, especially in EU 261 compensation cases, is a plus.
- Experience in civil law is required.
- Experience representing aviation institutions is advantageous.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Highly organized, productive, flexible, and capable of managing multiple cases.
- Strong research and data management skills.
- Excellent client relationship skills, professional and cooperative attitude.
- Trustworthy, discreet, with good judgment.
- Ability to work under pressure with high attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Italian.
- Self-motivated, proactive, eager to learn, and autonomous.
- Good at processing large amounts of information for legal cases.
- Ability to balance competing demands.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Understanding of a highly regulated industry and complex decision-making across legal regimes and geographies.
