A leading training provider in the automotive sector is seeking Automotive Subject Matter Experts to consult on the development of instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training programs. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry, familiarity with dealership operations, and a strong grasp of industry trends. This is a contract position offering competitive rates of approximately $100/hour.

Ardent Learning is a leader in the Automotive Industry and has been creating and delivering training for 30 years. We have partnered with the majority of manufacturers to provide sales, service, and technical training, as well as product launch and ride-and-drive events.

We're looking to add Contract (1099) Automotive Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to our network for future opportunities to consult on the development of our instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (vILT) programs.

SMEs are Thought Leaders in their specific subject area with a deep understanding of and the ability to clearly articulate the current and future landscape of these areas. They will have the knowledge to confidently consult, research, and validate training courses that we develop for our clients.

At this time, we're interested in candidates with expertise in automotive Sales who have previously served as operators at the dealership level. Subject Matter Experts will:

  • Stay in tune with automotive industry trends, proven best practices, and innovative approaches that earn client credibility and inspire new learning content
  • Collaborate with clients and Ardent internal teams to deliver learning assets that are organized, well designed, and effective for learners
  • As needed, facilitate ILT and vILT sessions in their area of expertise

These are contract (1099) roles; rates will vary based on requirements but are approximately $100/hour.

What You'll Bring

  • Familiarity with standard dealership and OEM functions, practices, and personnel roles
  • Understanding of industry-based customer satisfaction and product quality indicators, e.g., key elements, cycles, etc.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and practices, e.g., instructional design, performance-based objectives, measurement, evaluation
  • Ability to clearly articulate and simplify complex ideas for internal and client teams
  • Stays up-to-date and is an authority on industry trends in automotive subject areas
  • At least 3–5 years of experience consulting in an SME role for training development
  • At least 3–5 years of experience facilitating in the automotive industry
  • Experience at the OEM level is a plus
  • Previous experience as a dealer operator (e.g., Dealer Principal, General Manager) is required
