Job summary

Fidia Farmaceutici S.P.A. in Paderno Dugnano, Lombardy, Italy, is recruiting an Automation Specialist to support the HQ’s Automation Department.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in electronics/automation or CS; degree is a plus.
• 5+ years with PLC and SCADA systems in manufacturing or with suppliers.
• Strong PLC programming and SCADA development knowledge.
• Solid understanding of industrial networks and hardware.
• Excellent written and spoken English; GMP exposure preferred.

Job Description

To support HQ’s Automation Department in managing the automation of equipment and industrial systems at Paderno Dugnano Plant, we are recruiting an Automation Specialist. The candidate will be involved in the automation of SCADA, equipment and industrial systems for project implementation, system management and maintenance, and supplier management.

Main responsibilities:

• Support existing PLC, HMI, and SCADA management.
• Manage the OT infrastructure supporting the SCADA and PLC network.
• Monitor OT network performance and propose potential adjustments.
• Diagnose and resolve automation system faults with vendor support.
• Manage automation and network vendors for current system maintenance and new project development.
• Supervise new project phases: from URS drafting, planning, vendor selection and management to installation supervision and IOPQ.
• Manage peripheral and core switches, firewalls, and infrastructure servers with vendor support.
• Coordinate the physical connection of automation systems to the OT network.
• Manage user groups and access policies for the OT network.
• Work in coordination with Engineering, IT, and Production teams.

Requirements:

• Technical High School Diploma in Electronics, Automation, or Computer Science.
• A degree in a related field is considered a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience managing PLC and SCADA systems, gained either in manufacturing plants or with automation system/machinery suppliers.
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming languages and architecture.
• Solid knowledge of SCADA development and supervisory platforms.
• Good understanding of industrial network infrastructure and network hardware.
• Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English.
• Prior experience within regulated industries (Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Nutraceuticals, or Cosmetics) and familiarity with GMP standards is strongly preferred.
• Strong integrity, a high degree of independence, and meticulous attention to detail.
