Position: Automation Senior Service Engineer

Voith Paper s.r.l. (Italy) is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Service Engineer for the Italian market, with extensions to Southern Europe and the Middle East. The new role will be part of the Automation division, responsible for providing installation, maintenance, and support services for automation systems in the paper industry.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Technical Tasks
   • Join the routine and extraordinary maintenance team for paper production equipment and systems, specifically quality control systems (QCS), machine control systems (MD), and transversal controls (CD).
   • Maintain, update, and partially develop software for existing control systems, including PLC and DCS platforms such as Siemens S7/PCS7, Codesys, and Html/Xml languages.
   • Configure and intervene in system environments like virtualization servers, high-availability applications and hardware, HyperVisor, and Docker/Container environments with dedicated Edge devices.
   • Work on finishing/ribobinatrici systems with focus on logical/systemic aspects (PLC, supervision), drives (Siemens and ABB), and technological components.
   • Participate in the technical support team (Hotline) after training, with biweekly shifts (expected commitment of 8 weeks/year).
2. Organizational/Management Tasks
   • Lead projects, managing and coordinating orders and projects, defining timelines and schedules, and coordinating internal and client operations.
   • Supervise and coordinate external companies involved in project development, including contractors and freelance designers.
   • Draft service reports, technical relationships, specifications, and logical/functional diagrams.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate holds a degree or diploma in a technical, automation, or computer science field, with at least 5 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in the paper industry. Good command of English, both written and spoken, is required. Occasional travel to Italy and abroad (approximately 80% Italy, 20% abroad) will be necessary. Preference is given to candidates from the Triveneto area or those willing to relocate.
