Automation & IT Expert (Expansion Project)

What you can expect

1. Derive from the automation concept the technical solutions that will support the business/operations
2. Be a part of the solution of the automation & IT requirements for all operational flows
3. Project support automation topics or automated areas
4. Liaise with internal & external stakeholders
5. Apply best practices in terms of automation, IT & safety
6. Forecast problem areas and provide solutions
7. Share requirements with the Asset team
8. Interface with the HHLA PLT Italy existing IT and automation
9. Comply with all the safety and security rules and regulations lead by example
10. Support the department and business unit where required
11. Follow the corporate authority matrix, contract policies compliance guidelines
12. Actively report improvement opportunities to direct report

What you bring to the table
We're looking for an accurate and process-minded individual who can translate an automation concept into implemented solutions. The person would have a high sense of responsibility as the role is vital to ensure we meet our operational goals in line with our OPEX & CAPEX targets.

1. Good English (Italian is a plus)
2. Experience (5+ year(s)) in automation/IT (port experience highly valued but not mandatory)
3. Experience (5+ year(s)) in building processes and delivering automation projects
4. Thorough understanding of safety in an automated environment (experience with the Italian legal environment & EU machinery directive highly valued)
5. Strong problem solver - both in terms of technical solutions as well as collaborating with others
6. Ability to work in an agile environment
7. Self-starter with the ability to translate high-level concepts into technical solutions
8. Process & logic driven mentality
9. Degree in Engineering/IT/Automation or other

The ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and would be willing to relocate to Trieste on short notice.
