The role involves overseeing pre-commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and providing onsite software commissioning support. Candidates should have an Engineering Degree with strong experience in automation, PLC programming, and excellent communication skills in Italian and English. Frequent travel within Italy and abroad is required.

Competenze

Overview

Our Client is a consolidated multinational Company, leader in the field of turnkey solutions for complete final assembly plants for numerous industrial sectors.

In order to increase its staff, it has entrusted us with selecting the :

Automation Commissioning Engineer Leader

The resource Initiate in-house pre-commissioning activities in accordance with project milestones and requirements, following the completion of manufacturing. Ensure that all functional tests are thoroughly executed and validated prior to system delivery. Provide hands-on support for software commissioning activities, both during in-house preparation and on-site deployment.

Responsibilities
  • Execute precommissioning tasks for in-house shopfloor systems, ensuring readiness prior to delivery.
  • Verify that all critical parameters are configured and core functions are tested before system handover.
  • Conduct manufacturing quality checks prior to system poweron to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Identify and document missing components, providing timely feedback to the manufacturing manager.
  • Constant collaboration with Engineering department for product design, reporting improvements for the product and internal processes.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive precommissioning documentation, including reports, checklists, test programs, and parameter settings for the next project phase.
  • Provide onsite support during the initial phase of software commissioning, with an expected 50% travel commitment.
  • Offer specialized support onsite to address and resolve unexpected technical issues during system setup, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Contribute to cost reduction and efficiency improvements by actively participating in initiatives such as PCD (Process Cost Down) and CIP (Continuous Improvement Process)
  • Collaborate closely with AGV software teams to support the integration, testing, and validation of software during the inhouse phase.
Requirements
  • Engineering Degree, Automation Engineering preferred
  • Solid experienced Automation Specialist with proven expertise in the commissioning of AGVs.
  • Strong background in software commissioning, motion control PID, and PLC programming, with handson experience in Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio5000 environments.
  • In-depth understanding of control systems architecture and software commissioning processes
  • Proficient in motion control systems, HMI / SCADA visualization, and PLC logic development
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, with a methodical and analytical approach to problemsolving
  • Fluent in Italian and English, with excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High tolerance for stress and pressure, capable of delivering results within tight deadlines
  • Committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in all phases of project execution
  • Availability for frequent travel in Italy and abroad
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and adaptability skills complete the profile
