Overview

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.As a partner section, MSF Italy is engaged in saving lives and alleviating suffering through fundraising; communication and advocacy, recruitment and deployment of field workers; as well as running operations in Italy and supporting international operations through expertise and other kinds of direct support.

The Associative communication Assistant plays a key role in supporting the communications efforts of MSF Italy’s Associative Unit, the President, and the Board of Directors. This position ensures the effective creation, editing, and management of digital content across associative websites, social media platforms, and internal communication channels. The role contributes to fostering engagement within the associative community and strengthening the overall governance and communication processes of the association.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to support the smooth and efficient functioning of the Associative Unit by ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful communication with MSF Italy members and stakeholders. This includes managing content on national and international associative digital platforms, producing the monthly newsletter, and supporting internal communication initiatives. The Assistant is also responsible for ensuring the logistics and communication processes for key associative events such as the General Assembly and the Annual Associative Forum (MSF Days).

Content and Communication

  • Edit, update, and optimize content for the associative website;
  • Produce and adapt multimedia content (photos, videos, infographics, posts) for associative social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn);
  • Translate content (articles, blogs, scripts) between English and Italian;
  • Produce the monthly associative newsletter and scripts for video;
  • Develop and maintain internal communication documents aimed at informing and engaging members;
  • Monitor performance metrics to optimize content effectiveness and support reporting needs.

Community Engagement and Platforms

  • Manage online community interactions via CRM platforms, SharePoint, Teams, and others;
  • Foster member engagement and interaction through digital tools and campaigns;
  • Act as the focal point for volunteer-related associative activities and engagement.

Board and Governance Support

  • Prepare timelines, materials, and precise minutes for Board meetings and calls;
  • Manage confidential documentation, records, and archives for institutional continuity and legal compliance;
  • Respond to legal and administrative requests related to Board activities;
  • Provide the Board with information and documentation on associative procedures and MSF international governance matters;
  • Conduct background research and prepare briefs to support informed Board decision-making.

Event Coordination

  • Manage logistics for Board meetings (technical setup, catering, space arrangement, tools such as Teams and Mural);
  • Assist with the planning and execution of major associative events, including the General Assembly and MSF Day;
  • Act as liaison between the Italian Board and international association events (e.g., OCB Board, OCB Gathering).

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Actively participate in interdepartmental working groups (e.g., 5x1000 platform, Events platform);
  • Coordinate with other departments to align associative communication with wider organizational strategies.
Qualifications

Key requirement/education:

  • Academic degree;
  • B2 English level;
  • Italian mother tongue.

Technical skills and knowledge:

Work Experience:

  • Professional experience of at least 2 year;
  • Experience of at Least 1 year with digital tools and online platforms.

Added value/asset:

  • Previous MSF experience;
  • Past experience in governance issues;
  • Past experience in an association and/or no profit sector;
  • Past experience in secretary, communications and/or event management;
  • Degree in Communication and Social Media;
  • B2 French level.

Conditions:

Contract:Fixed-term contract of 12 months. Full-time. Level III of Italian CCNL of Commerce.

Gross Annual Salary: min 28.476€ - max 35.028 € (depending on experience of the selected candidate)

Starting date: 01/09/2025

Location: Hybrid, MSF Italy Rome office and from home.
