You’ll reshape the way we work.

So we can reshape farmers’ lives across the world.

Do you have extensive management experience within international organisations, financial institutions, multilateral development banks or the United Nations? Are you adept at leading change, reform, organizational development and transformation programmes? If so, then you can play a central part in shaping the activities of a global body with a unique mandate.

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a multinational financial institution and a United Nations specialized agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. Our mission is to fund programmes that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes – transforming lives around the world.

Our Corporate Services Department delivers HR, management, IT and medical services across the organization. You will take ownership of it as part of an executive management team, focusing on change, transformation and best practice. We will look to you to provide strategic leadership and guidance to your colleagues, while framing policy discussions, identifying opportunities for improvement and finding solutions for ongoing challenges. In particular, you will actively manage funds used for eradicating poverty, oversee evaluations to approve lending and build relationships with strategic partners, so this is far from a backroom role – everything you do will impact on the people we serve.

Consequently, we require an exceptional professional with proven ability to get the best from significant teams and substantial budgets while streamlining processes and carefully controlling risk. Naturally, you should possess a postgraduate qualification in economics, business administration, finance, diplomacy, communications, corporate governance, political science, international relations, development, law or a related field, and your far-reaching track record in leadership positions should speak for itself. Equally importantly, you should be fully fluent in English and will ideally bring some command of French, Spanish and / or Arabic. Above all, you will be capable of taking a multicultural team to the next level within a complex political organization, while securing the support of our strategic partners to empower us to make a lasting difference.
