In this role, you will contribute to and support the team in achieving successful results in Research & Development projects for our Transformer Business Unit in Monselice (PD).

The opportunity:

We are seeking an engineer or data science student to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will be involved in developing new optimization tools based on ML/AI, including search and data entry. The ideal candidate will have a background in numerical calculation, statistics, or electrical/mechanical engineering.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Research and implement suitable ML algorithms and tools.
• Select appropriate datasets and data representation methods.
• Extract and manage data from various databases.
• Be resourceful in data collection activities.
• Be resourceful and creative in developing ML models that best fit the datasets involved.
• Collaborate with colleagues from the Italian Team, Global Technology Centers, and Factories worldwide.
• Learn to use specific software and simulation tools used in the department.

Your background:

• A Master’s degree in Data Science or a similar field, with strong competencies in Machine Learning and AI.
• Knowledge of database access and queries (e.g., SQL Server).
• Proficiency in R Studio and/or Python, including main ML and data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience designing and debugging neural networks is a plus.
• Proven experience applying ML techniques to real-world problems with limited data is a plus.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerBI (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Italian and English.
