A leading company in mRNA technology seeks a skilled Production Planner to oversee the supply and production planning processes. With over 15 years of experience and a strong background in Biotech or Pharma, you'll ensure optimal capacity and material availability while collaborating across teams and driving improvements.
Lead planning processes with CMO, driving key discussions with functional counterparts on a weekly and monthly basis.
Ensure planning and supply chain standards are properly implemented within the own area of competence.
Oversee the short-term production, release, and supply plan for the phases under their responsibility (UDP and FDP). Identify potential deviations from the plan and escalate issues through the internal meeting governance.
Monitor CMO Capacity over the tactical horizon for DP and FP, aiming to optimize capacity based on requirements from the S&OP process.
Develop a monthly, valid, and optimized Production Plan proposal for the planning horizon, highlighting major risks, issues, and decisions needed. Prepare presentation materials for effective review via the supply review process.
Maintain adequate planning & master data parameters (e.g., MOQ, Lead Times, order frequency) in collaboration with master data management.
Measure weekly performance, including on-time supply to plan, inventory vs. target inventory, and site inventories of critical materials (supplied by Moderna) vs. target. Use root cause analysis to address systemic issues and lead resolution to achieve target performance levels consistently.
Ensure material availability weekly to monthly in collaboration with the Global Material Planning team.
Develop and manage relationships with external suppliers and customers for all supply-related matters, such as demand/supply planning, analysis, and order management, to guarantee high customer service levels, including stock management.
BS / BA in Supply Chain, Science, Economics, or Finance with 15 years of experience.
10+ years’ experience as a Production Planner within Biotech, Pharma, or related batch production manufacturing environments; CMO experience strongly preferred.
8+ years’ experience with SAP MPS and MRP.
APICS / ASCM CPIM and CSCP certifications preferred.
Knowledge of site supply chain processes, including demand management, S&OP, production planning, capacity planning, material planning, procurement, order fulfillment, master data, and lifecycle management.
Ability to lead through influence at all levels in a CMO environment.
Ability to collaborate across boundaries and form effective relationships with colleagues.
Customer and business-focused, committed to delivering successful outcomes cost-effectively.
Experience in change management and process improvements, with data-driven decision-making.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
