Assistant Student Success Manager- Academic Success and Post Verto Planning
Position Description:
The Assistant Student Success Manager has onsite responsibilities for student-facing academic support, advising, and post-Verto planning. The Assistant Student Success Manager will consult with students and guide them on topics related to their academic progress and Post Verto planning. They will provide learning strategies and facilitate interventions to maximize student success. The Assistant Student Success Manager is a champion for student success and helps students feel supported, cared for, and motivated.
This position reports to the Director/Manager of Student Success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Post-Verto Planning
- Advise students regarding their post-Verto plans for both Channel programs and Traditional pathways.
- Serve as primary support for students interested in applying to Direct Transfer partners, including application vetting onsite.
- Advise continuing Verto students regarding their future semester course selection and plans.
- Serve as a point of contact for pre-arrival post-Verto planning advising.
- Support student academic major and career advising and helping students identify academic goals and establish/work toward post-Verto plans.
Skill Building and Support
- Serve as an escalation point for student success, collaborate with students/faculty/academic staff, decide appropriate interventions and actions, and implement with the assistance of SSAs and others as appropriate.
- Serve as a point of contact for pre-arrival academic advising, participate in virtual pre-arrival student academic advising and pre-departure orientation sessions with Academic Affairs and Student Success Staff.
- Provide in-class success or advising workshops or sessions.
- Connect students with academic tutoring, mentoring, and learning support services in collaboration with the Academics Team.
- Assist with implementation of Academic Accommodations for students.
- Deliver pre-departure and onsite orientation sessions as needed.
- Assist in opening/closing study center or providing emergency support, on rotation with other team members, as assigned
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- 2-4 years experience with student success, academic advising, student support services and American higher education initiatives,
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in higher education, student affairs administration, counseling, social work or related field.
- Professional experience working in higher education, with preference for experience working with U.S. college students in advising or administrative capacities,
- Experience supervising students/staff.
- The ability to embody/model kindness, openness, flexibility, curiosity, empathy, integrity, responsibility and professionalism for participants
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team (locally, globally).
- Must have authorization to work in the country in which this position is located. Verto Education is unable to sponsor visas for applicants.

- Technology oriented, able to work with student information databases (Salesforce) and learning management platforms (Canvas, Dropout Detective) and various systems and tools to facilitate global work (Slack, Asana, etc.).
