Offer Description

The post is for a six-year period. The annual gross salary is about 50.000 Euros. The area of research and teaching is Bioengineering.
Required research duties: Activities within the main research lines characterizing the Scientific-Disciplinary Sector IBIO-01/A (Biomedical Engineering), with particular attention to the application of engineering methodologies and technologies to address problems in medicine and life sciences. In line with the development directions of the Center, the research will be oriented toward the study, design, development, and functional evaluation of technologies, devices, and biomedical systems, with specific reference to their application in the delivery processes of healthcare services for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and patient care.
To this end, relevant skills and mastery of multidisciplinary methodologies will be required, relating to various contexts of engineering applications for:
• the understanding, modeling, and functional management of material–tissue interaction processes for the design and application of medical devices;
• the identification of physiological and pathophysiological phenomena through the analysis of biological systems by means of biosignal and bioimage acquisition and processing;
• knowledge of biomedical and biotechnological instrumentation, from basic components to integrated systems for medical applications;
• the evaluation of health technologies in terms of quality, safety, and appropriateness, as outlined by current regulations in the field of Medical Devices and healthcare service delivery;
• the development of comparative effectiveness clinical research, with reference to methodological and ethical aspects;
• the application of tools and methods for innovation management in healthcare and its effective and efficient integration at all levels of the system: from the patient to the hospital network, from the regional organization to the national and European level.
Required teaching duties: the teaching activities, in line with the annual teaching program of Centre for Medical Sciences, will be in the scientific disciplinary sector IBIO-01/A or related areas.
Foreign language required: excellent level of English;
Knowledge of Italian: level adequate to carry out the assigned teaching and research load (the researcher is required to teach in Italian);
