Description

A Brief Overview

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age-specific nursing care to patient/families.

What You Will Do

• Routinely provide patient care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain employee records.
• Identify needs for and provide staff education/staff development.
• Participate in discharge planning, community resource referrals, and education.
• Participate in committee activities and quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee daily operations of the unit/area in a cost-effective manner.
• Engage in community outreach activities as pertinent.
• Initiate and maintain positive relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.
• Take responsibility for self-development and support a learning environment.
• Display commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
• Refer to departmental documentation during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
• Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Complete annual training and adhere to the UH Code of Conduct and policies regarding PHI.
