About the Role

Belmond is recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller to work at multiple properties in Italy. The role may require temporary relocation within the Southern Europe region, including Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the activities of the Accounting department to ensure efficiency and performance.
2. Represent the Financial Controller in their absence.
3. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
4. Supervise Accounting department staff, including income audit and accounting personnel.
5. Implement policies, internal controls, and safeguards to ensure profitability and operational control; liaise with auditors.
6. Coordinate month-end closing, prepare journal entries, review Financial Statements, and analyze variances.
7. Assist in Financial Reporting to Corporate Headquarters.
8. Coordinate internal and external audit processes.
9. Monitor internal controls and develop operating procedures as needed.
10. Reconcile balance sheets.
11. Delegate accounting tasks to junior staff.
12. Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
13. Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks.
